About Ondra
Crafted with
a quiet confidence
A Kuala Lumpur studio where each design decision is made with patience, local knowledge, and genuine care for the person who will live or work in the space.
Back to HomeOur Story
From a single drawing board in KL
Ondra began in 2012 in a small shared studio near Bangsar, with one founding designer and a specific conviction: that good interior design is not about imposing a style, but about discovering what a space — and the people in it — actually need.
Over the following years, the practice grew through word of mouth, building a reputation within the Klang Valley for thoughtful residential work and an attentive, unhurried process. Today, Ondra is a small team of four, operating from our studio in Bukit Damansara and covering projects across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
We have always stayed intentionally small. It lets us give proper attention to each project and maintain honest, direct relationships with our clients. Every space we work on receives the full weight of our experience — not a junior member following templates.
Our Vision
Spaces that feel settled and considered — where nothing feels arbitrary and everything reflects the people who use them.
Our Mission
To deliver interior design services that begin with listening — and result in spaces that genuinely serve the lives of those within them.
Our Values
Honesty in scope and pricing. Transparency through every stage. Respect for the client's own instincts. Local material knowledge. No shortcuts.

How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
These are the principles that govern how we engage with every client and project, regardless of scope.
Written Documentation
Every stage is documented in writing. Design decisions, material choices, scope agreements — all committed to paper so there is no ambiguity between designer, client, and contractor.
Client Data Protection
All personal data shared during our engagement is handled in accordance with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We do not share client information with third parties without consent.
Honest Scope Management
We do not oversell. The service tiers are clearly defined and we will tell you honestly which is appropriate for your situation — even if it means recommending the lower tier.
Sustainable Material Choices
Where possible, we prioritise locally sourced and low-impact materials. We work with suppliers who can provide origin and durability information on request.
Verified Trade Network
The contractors and suppliers we work with have been engaged on previous projects. We recommend only those whose work we have personally seen and whose communication is reliable.
Realistic Timelines
We set timelines we intend to keep and communicate early if something shifts. We would rather give you an accurate forecast than a pleasant one that causes problems later.
Our Practice
Interior design in Malaysia carries specific considerations that general design principles do not always account for — the climate, the material availability, the way spaces are used across different cultural contexts, the particular rhythms of KL renovation timelines. Ondra's grounding in local practice means we begin from a realistic picture of what is possible and what is sensible.
Our work spans apartments in Mont Kiara, linked houses in Damansara Heights, a retail studio in TTDI, and several villa renovation projects in the Klang Valley. Each project has shaped our understanding of what clients at different stages actually need from a designer — and what they do not need, which is often just as important.
We are affiliated with the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) and stay current with the material and technical developments relevant to our field. We do not chase trends, but we understand what clients see and want to discuss — and we can speak to it honestly.
